Personal and Professional Development

A major impact any company makes on society is the creation of jobs in the local area and the wealth that is then put in to the community. The ICM Group has grown substantially over the last five years and now has 48 staff members on its payroll. The ICM Board of Directors feel strongly that their staff are the company’s greatest asset and know that people will stay with the company if they feel the work they do is valued, that they can find a good work-life balance and that opportunities for training, development and life-long-learning are available to all.

Staff at ICM are given opportunities to pursue professional qualifications that are relevant to their role in the company. Many of our Company and Trust administrators are pursuing the ICSA and STEP qualifications, some managers the IOD qualification and all staff are constantly updated in anti-money laundering legislation and other key areas. In April 2010, ICM Accounting was approved by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) as an ACA training employer. ICM Accounting staff are pursuing CAT and ACA qualifications. This commitment to professional development clearly benefits both the staff member and the company but also other stakeholders such as clients and the local authorities. It givies credence to the professionalism of the company and contributes to the reputation of the Isle of Man as a first class finance centre.

Staff are also able to apply for a short career break during which they can choose to pursue their personal interests, volunteer at home or overseas or study for a non work related qualification.

Opportunities are given to local students who return to the Isle of Man having studied in the UK for degree qualifications. ICM welcomes students on work experience placements and is a supporter of the Manx Graduate website. ICM has a history of cultivating students on temporary placements to become full time, permanent members of staff.
