Spring yacht shows for Dominion
Chris Allix attended the 20th Dubai International Boat Show from 13-17 March. The show featured 430 yachts valued at Dh960 million. The yacht industry is rapidly growing in the region with 55,000 new berths planned to boost the leisure market. A regular visitor to this show, Chris told us:
"The show was bigger than last year and there were definitely positive vibes around. The big yacht builders were back and I saw a lot of brokers there from the Med.There is a strong interest in luxury yachting in the region and the infrastructre is rapidly catching up. I think this year it was beneficial not to have the Abu Dhabi show immediately after."
Chris will be heading down to the Antibes Yacht Show (12-15 April) after Easter, which kickstarts the Mediterranean charter season. Dominion Marine will have a stand at the show, along the International Quay, number C711.
Chris will be joined by senior yacht specialist, Catherine Connolly as well as crew payroll and employment expert, Simon Roberts of Dominion Crew Solutions. Jackie Baker (pictured left), Yacht Consultant and manager of the Dominion Consultants office in the Galerie du Port, Antibes, will also be around. Jackie will be making sure the office is kept open as much as possible during the show as it is such a busy time of year for crew bank accounts.
Dominion will also have a stand at the MYBA show in Genova (30 April - 04 May). Chris Allix told us:
"This is one of our favourite shows. We have been exhibiting here for many years. It is restricted to brokers and exhibitors and there is always a good range of yachts and superyachts. The relaxed atmosphere is beneficial as it gives us more quality time to spend with captains, crew and brokers. Some years we have had horrendous weather so let us hope this year is a good one. I will be joined by Jackie Baker from the Dominion Consultants Antibes office and Simon Roberts of Dominion Crew Solutions. We will be there to answer any questions about yacht ownership structures, registration, VAT and importation issues, captain's accounts or crew solutions."
Dominion Marine will also be exhibiting, as usual, at the Monaco Yacht Show from 19-22 September.
