ICM ETS Limited
ICM ETS Limited, in partnership with Future Perfect Limited, is offering a new verification service specifically designed for the aviation industry. As part of the ICM Group we have extensive aviation experience mainly through Martyn Fiddler Associates Limited (member of BBGA, EBAA, NBAA and BHA) and ICM Aviation Limited. We offer a wide range of services to aircraft owners and operators and understand the operational and commercial issues which affect them.
Future Perfect Limited has unrivalled experience in the EU ETS. In 2008, their team verified one in every 5 tonnes of CO2 in the UK’s ETS inventory, more than any verification body. They have provided support to regulators, registries and accreditation bodies in multiple jurisdictions, advising on the development of accounting and verification protocols, processes, regulations and guidance. Their experience of being involved in schemes in their early stages is vital as the aviation industry adjusts to the new challenges of the EU ETS.
Whilst aviation is new to the EU ETS, static installations have been reporting their emissions for several years under the scheme. As a result, the regulators have existing expectations of what operators are required to do. Understanding these expectations, as well as the aviation specific issues relating to ETS, and interpreting them both in the context of each other is vital to performing verifications.
The wealth of aviation knowledge within the ICM Group, together with Future Perfect’s expertise of verification places us in a unique position to deliver a verification service tailored to meet the specific needs of the sector.
ICM ETS Limited is committed to maintaining its impartiality in all its duties as a Verification Body and work to mitigate any conflicts of interest as far as possible. A full impartiality statement is available here.
We are currently running a survey to discover how well operators have been dealing with the EU ETS. To take part, please visit www.ets-survey.eu.
