Isle of Man Aviation Conference: a year of change

The 2012 Isle of Man Aviation Conference, organised by ICM Aviation and supported by the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, will take place on Thursday 21st June.

2012 Conference agenda and speakers

The theme of the Isle of Man Aviation conference is 'a year of change'. High profile speakers include Brian Humphries, President of the EBAA and Hartley Elder, Director of Civil Aviation on the Isle of Man. Brian Johnson, Director of Operations at Appleby Aviation Limited, has agreed to chair the conference.

The venue for the 2012 conference will be the Royal Hall of the impressive Villa Marina, located on the seafront in Douglas. Local caterers TASTE will provide the buffet lunch which was so highly praised in 2011. They provide a fantastic range of dishes using locally sourced, seasonal produce.

ICM Aviation will be hosting a post conference evening reception for all delegates and other guests from the Island's business community at the House of Manannan in Peel.

Visit the conference website for further information and a registration form.

2011 Conference

The 2011  conference celebrated the success of the Aircraft Registry and showcased the Island's wide range of aviation interests that goes far beyond the register into engineering and manufacturing, design and maintenance.

The conference attracted industry professionals from off island who in many instances had already participated in the island's aviation story but who had not yet heard about the wider aviation opportunities on offer nor seen the Isle of Man for themselves.

The 2011 conference was opened by keynote speaker Hon Alan Bell MHK, in his capacity as Minister of Economic Development at that time. The high calibre list of Isle of Man based speakers included Brian Johnson, Director of Civil Aviation, Adrian Moore, Development Manager Industry and Space for the Department of Economic Development, Tim Craine, head of the Business Development Agency, Courtenay Heading of Bladon Jets Holdings Limited, Martin Sanderson of Aerotech International and Mark Byrne of ICM Aviation. We were very proud to present two off Island speakers, Thierry Betbeze of Dassault Aviation and David Velupillai of Airbus Corporate Jets.

The 2011 conference agenda and speaker details are available here . Some photos are also available on our photo gallery.
